Narrative Project: Influence Map


This is an influence map containing the most important scientific and intellectual characters of the period of the Enlightenment.

1: Rousseau and next to him the "Social Contract" he published expressing the best way to set up a political community. Rousseau has been characterized as one of the fathers of the Enlightenment.

2: Voltaire, another important character of the Age of the Enlightenment.

3: Isaac Newton and next to him is his work "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy".  His discoveries and his scientific work was very important. 

4: Montesquieu and next to him is his work "Spirits of Laws" expressing  his main political principles.

5: Immanuel Kant and next to him is his work "Critique of Pure Reason" in 1781. His work was expressing the new age of philosophic idealism.
